UK, London ? Friday 19 January 2007 ? Top UK Indie, Tiger Aspect Productions, an IMG Company, is pleased to announce the opening of the New York office in Manhattan, heralding a further expansion into the US market.
Spearheading the increased drive into American East Coast production from Tiger Aspect London are Charles Brand and Jamie Munro, who will jointly run the New York operation.
Since 2004, when Tiger Aspect USA opened its first US office in Washington DC, it has forged strong working relationships with some of the key US networks, including the Discovery Channel, TLC and Animal Planet. Tiger Aspect USA hope to continue to work closely with their existing partners, as well as developing and producing new programmes for other networks in the US market.
Andrew Zein, Managing Director of Tiger Aspect, is also delighted to confirm the appointment of Adam Steinman as Head of Development for Tiger Aspect USA, where he is responsible for overseeing Tiger Aspect USA’s cable and network development projects.
Steinman, who has been producing and developing television in the US and Canada for over a decade, joins from Lion USA, where he was instrumental in developing new projects for a variety of channels including Discovery Channel, TLC, MTV, Court TV, PBS and Discovery International.
Steinman will be working alongside Tiger Aspect USA’s Vice President of Production Management, Steve Werner, and intends to put together a strong development team and start pitching immediately. Werner joined the Tiger Aspect group in May 2006 from UK terrestrial channel Five where he was Finance Manager for the broadcaster’s factual department. Since his arrival he has overseen a raft of TLC projects including The Monastery, Trial By Choir, American Women and Youth Aids, as well as Ms Adventure for Animal Planet.
Executive Producer, Lawrence Cumbo has also joined the New York office from Tiger’s original base in Washington DC, and will be responsible for his own slate of projects.
Andrew Zein said, “The opening of the New York office marks the beginning of a very exciting time for Tiger Aspect USA, enabling us to benefit from the resources and facilities provided by our colleagues at IMG, whilst preserving our identity as a producer of high end programming from a wide range of genres. We are very much looking forward to utilising Adam’s wealth of experience in American television, which will help us to continue producing a wide range of innovative programming for the US market.”
Adam Steinman comments, “I am keen to help strengthen Tiger Aspect’s fantastic reputation by developing programmes based on production in the UK as well as new programming here in the US, continuing the line of successful programming Tiger has made for TLC and other US channels.”
