London, 16 March 2007:- IMG Media has appointed Mark Young as Senior Vice President, Entertainment Sales & Acquisitions Worldwide.
Mark joins IMG Media in May after more than 14 years at BBC Worldwide, where he was latterly MD Global TV Sales, overseeing 40,000 hours of annual programme sales.
Michel Masquelier, Executive Vice President, IMG Media, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mark on board. He has a fantastic track record in international sales and we will greatly benefit from his expertise.
“IMG Media is already a market leader in sports, and now, with Mark at the helm of our entertainment content, we are aiming to be world beaters in multi-genre too.”
Mark Young said: “The decision to leave BBC Worldwide after fourteen wonderful years was never taken lightly, but I know I’m leaving the company in rude health.
“IMG offers a new set of opportunities, and a sports business with a world-class reputation. My ambition now is to bring the entertainment operation to the same level, using the talents of the teams at Tiger Aspect and Darlow Smithson and the sales teams at IMG.”
