Hamburg, 27 March 2007: IMG, the world?s premier sports, entertainment and media company, will be responsible for the exclusive representation of the media rights of the Deutschland Tour with immediate effect.
The two-year deal includes the television rights as well as the conception, marketing and distribution of the website of the most important cycling stage race in Germany.
“IMG is a very important strategic partner for us in order to increase the internationalisation of the Deutschland Tour”, said Dr. Michael Hinz, who as chairman of Upsolut Sports, is in charge of the rights exploitation of the Deutschland Tour.
Olaf Jochmann, Vice President IMG Media, adds: ”We are very much looking forward to this co-operation and we are very pleased to now have with the Tour de Suisse, the Tour de Romandie and the Deutschland Tour, three of the most important and most popular stage races after the Tour de France as part of our portfolio.”
The Deutschland Tour and IMG have initially agreed a two year deal with an option for renewal.
