IMG Sports Media has signed a deal with the Danish Football League, Superliga, to represent their international rights for three seasons: 2009/2010, 2010/2011 and 2011/2012.
The premier deal, commencing on 1 July, sees IMG represent Superliga’s world-wide media rights excluding Scandinavia.
The Danish Superliga is the highest league of football in Denmark and is currently contested by 12 teams each year. It is administered by the Danish Football Association.
Ralph Manheim, New Business Development Manager, Football, IMG said: “I am delighted to have the Danish League on board as our partner. IMG firmly believe in the quality of the Superliga both from a sportive and production standpoint.”
Claus Thomsen, CEO, Danish League said: “We are happy to be represented by the market leader in our efforts to take Danish club football to the next level. Following a couple of remarkable stints in Europe by FC København and AaB recently, Denmark will have two teams playing for qualification to the UEFA Champions League already next year. We are looking forward to see the high intensity and the good quality of matches in the Danish Superliga being exposed to a bigger audience by our agreement with IMG.”
