IMG Entertainment will be taking over 1000 hours of programming to MIPCOM this year, including unique documentary and successful Tigress series Alone in The Wild (4x50’ for Channel 4).
The groundbreaking documentary follows Ed Wardle, a highly experienced self-shooting TV Producer as he is dropped into the Yukon wilderness of Canada with nothing but a knife, a rifle, a cooking pot, his camera equipment and the clothes he stands in. Alone in The Wild has already attracted over 1.5 million viewers on UK broadcaster Channel 4 and has been described as “compelling viewing” by The Daily Telegraph.
Joining the raft of new programming from IMG Entertainment is also Darlow Smithson’s powerful one off special Tsunami. This is the incredible story of the 2004 Tsunami as it’s never been seen before. Told almost entirely through amateur archive footage, delivering a powerful and very human story of confusion and panic, of heartbreak and heroism, of death and miraculous survival.
IMG Entertainment has already secured several pre-sales of Tsunami which is expected to be delivered in time for the 5th year anniversary of this devastating event . Pre sales have been made to The History Channel Asia, Kabel 1 Germany, VRT Belgium, Schweizer Fernsehen Switzerland and SBS Netherlands.
Returning comedy series Secret Diary of a Call Girl 3, Ladies of Letters 2 and Benidorm 3 will also be available for the first time at this year’s MIPCOM market.
