Synopsis
FiNS is a contemporary magazine-format television series showcasing today’s top surfers both in and out of the water, with the surf world’s prime locations as their backdrop. Produced by Emmy Award winner and 30 year veteran in surf film and TV, Ira Opper gets rare access into the likes of Kelly Slater, the Irons brothers, and the new breed of surfing legends.
Producer Ira Opper (Surfer Magazine TV, Surfer’s Journal TV), writer Brad Melekian (Longboard Magazine, Surfer Magazine) and director Todd Saunders (aka:Girl Surfer, Long Board TV) team up to produce a series that not only showcases progressive surfing, but also takes the viewer on an exploration of the driving forces behind today’s surf culture.
Filmed on location in Australia, Hawaii, Indonesia and California, the show features high performance segments punctuated by insightful interviews and Mike Carter’s (10 Count) upbeat narration.
FiNS profiles include Oscar “Ozzie” Wright, Jason “Rat Boy’ Collins, Kelly Slater, The Irons, The Hobgoods, The Malloys, Sofia Mulanovich, Chelsea Georgeson, Alex Gray, Josh Hoyer and John John Florence as well. FiNS takes in-depth examination into the future of surfing from the shaping bays of Al Merrick, Nev Hyman, Stretch Riedel and recent epic surf sessions from Kauai, Oahu, Sumatra, Gold Coast, Santa Cruz, Mavericks and Trestles.
