Synopsis
The New York City Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the world, and since its inauguration 1970, it has atttracted over 550,000 competitors from over 100 countries around the world, making it a truly global event. The 26.2 mile annual race is contested through the five boroughs of New York City (Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Manhattan), beginning at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and finishing in Central Park.
