UNITED STATES GOLF ASSOCIATION ARCHIVE
Synopsis
The United States Golf Association (USGA) was formed in 1894 and today conducts thirteen national championships including the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Senior Open and U.S. Amateur. The USGA, in conjunction with the R&A, also conducts two international amateur team competitions known as the Walker Cup and the Curtis Cup, which are contested bi-annually between two teams comprised of either the leading male or female amateur golfers of the United States and Great Britain & Ireland.
The USGA Archive has acquired an extensive collection of black & white and colour material dating back to the 1920’s. Players featured include some of golf's all time greats such as Bob Jones, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Payne Stewart, Nick Faldo, Severiano Ballesteros, Ernie Els, Michael Campbell, Retief Goosen, Tiger Woods, Paula Creamer, Annika Sorenstam and Michelle Wie, plus many more.
