Synopsis
The Wimbledon Archive has built up an extensive collection of match footage, programming, interviews and behind the scenes coverage ranging from black & white to colour and High Definition. The Wimbledon Archive collection features many tennis legends including unique footage of the Doherty Brothers and great pre-war Champions such as Fred Perry, Rene Lacoste, Don Budge, Suzanne Lenglen and Helen Wills Moody. Directly after the Second World War The Championships were dominated by the Americans and Australians. The outstanding players among an array of Champions were Tony Trabert, Lew Hoad, Rod Laver, Louise Brough, Maureen Connolly, Althea Gibson and Billie Jean King.
With the modern era came the emergence of all time tennis greats such as Bjorn Borg, Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe, Steffi Graf, Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, Andre Agassi, Venus and Serena Williams, Pete Sampras, Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal - all of whom are encompassed in this exclusive Wimbledon Archive collection.
